Another aerobic instruction record. Not the most interesting one in my collection, only a few actual spoken instructions. But I’m sharing it anyway because I do like them all.

Here’s some funky samples:

Aerobic Dancing with Doris D (1983)

Doris D was a singer/dancer who scored some some disco hits in the dutch charts in the early eighties. She was originally from the UK but moved to the Netherlands as you (well, the Dutch visitors here at least) will hear from her accent.

The instruction poster is still included by the way which makes this record extra awesome!

Tracklist: (all tracks by Doris D & The Pins)
Midnight / Silver Spaceman / Higher and Higher / Jamaica / Cooldown

Skigymnastiek (1986)

Ski Gymnastics (1986)

The ski season is over… a perfect time to start getting in shape for next year don’t you think? And now you can!  With this album! Right now! Can you believe it?! Viva la internet!

Enjoy this musty voice explaining ski-related exercises accompanied by some bland cliché piano music.

Haven’t had enough after this workout?… here’s another ski exercise.

Dans Je Fit (met Penney de Jager) (1982)

“Dance Yourself Fit (with Penney de Jager)”

Aerobic instruction records are fun and very eighties. This one is no exception, it comes with a poster and the sensual instructions by that girl on the cover are accompanied by lots of cliche disco songs (e.g. YMCA, In The Navy, Dancing Queen, I Will Survive…).

Ron Brandsteder: Aerobic Dansen (1983)

This is a classic! This is why I love cratedigging: Finding a record like this in a dusty box under a table in a musty thriftstore makes it all worthwhile! I found this quite a few years ago, can’t remember when but gems like these keep my hobby going. Every once in a while browsing through crates at fleamarkets a copy of this record pops up and there’s many people who own it as well so it’s not very rare but it’s still a favorite.

Ron Brandsteder (that supposedly funny guy on the cover) is a dutch tv host (and singer) since the seventies. The aerobic instructions are very cheesy and he can hardly keep up the pace and rhythm of the disco beats. It’s all pretty horrible!

“Off To Wintersports In Tip Top Shape ”

This super corny record is a classic! It’s a 30 minute workout with a big variety of ski-related excersises spiced up with some super corny tiroler music. Toll! The enthousiastic narrator will make sure you’ll get your feet of the floor!
Side B is filled with a 16 minute aprés-ski tiroler party medley (with the cheering and yodeling of drunken people already filled in!)

This record will get every party started… or end :)

Pop a bottle of glühwein and download the whole disk (60mb) here.
