Hoe Bedien Ik De 27 MC (1980)

How Do I Use The 27 MC (1980)

This is (yet another) one of my favorites. An instruction record on how to use a CB radio (27 MC) (or more commonly known as a ‘bakkie’ in dutch) with information on etiquettes, how to speak and use your voice and how to choose a ‘skip name’ (nick name).

Especially the recorded example conversations are fun. No doubt that this record was very helpful for CB radio users back then but now it all just sounds very cheesy.

Here’s some clips:

Aerobic Dancing with Doris D (1983)

Doris D was a singer/dancer who scored some some disco hits in the dutch charts in the early eighties. She was originally from the UK but moved to the Netherlands as you (well, the Dutch visitors here at least) will hear from her accent.

The instruction poster is still included by the way which makes this record extra awesome!

Tracklist: (all tracks by Doris D & The Pins)
Midnight / Silver Spaceman / Higher and Higher / Jamaica / Cooldown

Playing For Pleasure Vol.1
Learn How To Play With Peter (Baartmans) On Your Yamaha PortaSound. (With complete music book)

That must be heaps of fun… and when you practice really well you can pick up a enthusiastic girl on roller skates too… or so it seems looking at those pictures.

Side A holds some famous synthesizer songs played on Yamaha gear, side B has the same tracks but only the rhythm and accompaniment sections so you can play along. You can find the normal tracks elsewere so I’ve only recorded side B for you.

Tracklist:

  1. Chariots Of Fire (3:31)
  2. P.S. I Love You  (3:15)
  3. Ballade Pour Adeline (2:43)
  4. Sandy’s Song (3:10)
  5. Aurora (3:32)
  6. Winterland (2:42)

Get it here (18mb).

Stereo Wegwijzer (1974)

Stereo Way Point (1974)

A wonderful stereo test record where Mies Bouwman and Willem Duys explain very clearly how to install your record player, accompanied by a variety of classical, jazzy and cheesy 70′s music.

Here’s some random clips:

Enjoy! (36 mb)

Electric Boogie 2 (1983)

This is a classic!

An electric boogie instruction rapped over a near 30 minute old-school hiphop mix by Alex And The City Crew. The LP comes with a big poster with the step-by-step instructions. Rad!

Here’s the intro:

Get down here (25mb)

I’m sure many of you dutch collectors will have this one too but if not, go look for it, there’s still quite a few around so it can’t be hard to find.

This great stereo test double album by Jan de Kruijff is, besides the sleeve, exactly the same as ‘Het Meest Complete Stereo-Album’ which I posted  here about a year ago.

Linguaphone Demonstratieplaat (197?)

Linguaphone Demonstration record

I have loads of language courses but don’t upload them here often. Most of them aren’t really special, weird or funny but I still like ‘em, I love hearing those musty old voices.

This disk is not very special either but language course records are part of my collection and this one gives an idea of how most of them sound. It gives examples of some english, french, spanish and italian lessons. Not sure from what year it is, I think somewhere in the seventies.

Mondvermaak (1980)

“…MouthSounds is the book for people who would give anything to imitate a Toilet Plunger. Or a Sports Car Smash and Crash. Sound like Gollum while reading Lord of the Rings to a favorite nephew or have meaningful dialogue with your dog…”

Simply put: it teaches you how to make rude and funny sounds and it comes with a two-sided floppy single.

This book and record is the dutch translation of the original book published in 1980: Mouthsounds, how to whistle, pop, click and honk your way to social success!

Here’s the best part:

Be the funny uncle at a boring party with this disk (12mb)

Skigymnastiek (1986)

Ski Gymnastics (1986)

The ski season is over… a perfect time to start getting in shape for next year don’t you think? And now you can!  With this album! Right now! Can you believe it?! Viva la internet!

Enjoy this musty voice explaining ski-related exercises accompanied by some bland cliché piano music.

Here’s a quick preview:

Here you go (52mb)

Haven’t had enough after this workout?… here’s another ski exercise.

Dans Je Fit (met Penney de Jager) (1982)

“Dance Yourself Fit (with Penney de Jager)”

Aerobic instruction records are fun and very eighties. This one is no exception, it comes with a poster and the sensual instructions by that girl on the cover are accompanied by lots of cliche disco songs (e.g. YMCA, In The Navy, Dancing Queen, I Will Survive…).

Here’s a preview:
